RISING FILM EVAPORATOR


A Rising Film Evaporator (also known as a climbing film evaporator) is a highly efficient heat exchange device designed to concentrate liquids by evaporating volatile components. It is widely used in industries like food processing, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals due to its effectiveness in handling heat-sensitive materials.

How It Works

1. Feed Introduction: The liquid to be concentrated enters the bottom of the evaporator tube.
2. Heat Application: Heat is applied to the outer surface of the tube, causing the liquid to boil and form vapor at the tube wall.
3. Film Formation: As the vapor expands, it pushes the liquid upward, forming a thin film along the inner tube wall.
4. Concentration: The rising motion enhances heat transfer, and the liquid becomes more concentrated as it moves up.
5. Separation: At the top, the vapor and concentrated liquid are separated.
